Once again we’re having a party to showcase our great city, especially our spectacular waterfront. And we’re doing it with style! Hot air balloon rides, a sunset reception, baseball games, a scavenger hunt, a floating cocktail party, a Canal Side Festival, tours, and much more.

This four-day “party with a purpose” is a fun way to showcase Buffalo’s assets, highlight opportunity and celebrate the city’s many successes to help keep our best and brightest here, to bring back those who have left and to attract entrepreneurs and professionals to help grow our community and our economy.

Hot Air Balloon rides

Presented by RE/MAX on the Outer Harbor, 6:00-9:00pm                

A benefit for the WNY Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation

Fabulous views and lots of fun! Climb into a safely tethered hot air balloon and rise more than 100 feet over the Outer Harbor and beautiful Lake Erie, or bring a lawn chair and watch the fun. Music, food and fun for all! Tickets are available on site only, starting at 6:00pm. $15 for adults, $10 children 12 & under.

Sunset Reception

If you've never been on the Observation Deck of our magnificent City Hall, you have been missing a great view. Join us at City Hall for light fare, great views and a tour of Buffalo from above.

Floating, Floating Cocktail Party

Templeton Landing, Two Templeton Terrace, 4:00-8:00pm

Come aboard a real floating cocktail party on Buffalo's waterfront. Arrive at Templeton Landing by land or by lake for a fabulous Happy To Be Here Hour starting at 4:00pm.  Then, board the Moondance Cat or your own boat at 6:00pm to launch this floating cocktail party.  

We'll form up and parade from Erie Basin Marina past Canal Side and the Buffalo River, floating along the Outer Harbor to Dug's Dive and back, celebrating all the while. The historic Cotter fireboat will provide some festive waterworks. Moondance Cat ticket: $15/person. Cash bar.

Free Cheerios Breakfast on the Boardwalk

You are cordially invited to join hundreds of your closest friends for a free bowl of Buffalo's iconic cereal within sight of where it's been made for the past 70 years! Come enjoy a good, heart-healthy breakfast with an outstanding view of our amazing Inner Harbor from the boardwalk of Canal Side. The whole city is invited, so bring the kids, bring your friends, and bring a pen for autographs. You never know who might be there...First come, first served!

Walk the Waterfront

Erie Canal Harbor Central Wharf - FREE, 10:30am-12:00pm

Once you've enjoyed your Cheerios, take a Sunday morning stroll along Buffalo's beautiful Waterfront. Walkers of all ages are invited to start at Canal Side, choosing from several routes, some involving the new Queen City Ferry. The longest route is about four miles, the shortest less than a mile. A map for self-guided walks will be available.

Citybrate the Waterfront Festival

Celebrate Buffalo on the Waterfront. See re-enactors reveal Buffalo's history and listen to storytellers tell the tales, do fun hands-on activities, visit the Estrela, the boat that sailed the seven seas for seven years and meet the Buffalonians who sailed it. Stop by the Buffalo Indie Market featuring local artists and artisans -- buy locally! Explore a mini-green expo and enjoy performances all day long at this family-friendly festival. Good food, fun festivities and much more on our glorious waterfront!

Cycle the Waterfront

Erie Canal Harbor Central Wharf - FREE, 4:00-6:00pm

Hop on your bike and take a ride along Buffalo's newly connected Waterfront. Don't have a bicycle? Rent one and join the fun! Bicyclists of all ages and abilities will ride from Canal Side, up the Buffalo River to Riverfest Park, continue across the Ohio Street Bridge to Dug's Dive, where all are invited to stop for light, cycle-friendly refreshments. Then, either continue to Times Beach, head south to the Union Ship Canal, or head back to Canal Side. A great way to end a wonderful weekend on the waterfront!
