Careers in Real Estate
Many people are interested in a real
estate career because they want a flexible work schedule and the unlimited
earning potential that sales positions can offer.
All New York real estate professionals are licensed by the
state of New York. To get your real estate license, you must first complete the the required education and
pass the licensing examination.
A real estate agent is a REALTORŪ when he or she becomes a
member of the REALTORŪ Association. REALTORŪ Membership is
available to New York licensed real estate brokers and salespersons, as well as
licensed or certified appraisers. Visit our New Member Resource page to find
out how valuable the BNAR can be as you start your real estate career.
The term REALTORŪ is a registered collective membership mark
that identifies a real estate professional who is a member of the National
Association of REALTORSŪ and who subscribes to its strict Code of Ethics.
Locally, many companies hold Career
Seminars for people interested in becoming a real estate professional. Once
a year, the BNAR holds a Trade Show Event called Agents' Day for all BNAR members
and affiliates to attend classes, seminars and product booths.(Find more information in What's New, in the Fall of each year)
