Thank you for attending our DEI Event - Loving Our Differences. Event on June 1st from 6:00 - 9:30 pm at Banchetti's.  

Close to 100 attended the event.

The event included foods from around the world, cultural dances, and music. There was an educational room filled with different local vendors, charities, and groups that educated attendees on local opportunities.  

Our guest speaker was Crystal Rodriguez, Deputy Mayor of the City of Buffalo. Deputy Mayor Crystal Rodriguez-Dabney is a lifelong resident of Buffalo. She holds an Advanced Certification in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University, a Master of Laws, and a Juris Doctorate from the University at Buffalo Law School. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Social Sciences from California State University in San Marcos. Since 2018, she has served as the Chief of Staff to Katherine S. Conway-Turner, Ph.D., President of Buffalo State College, where she oversaw the day-to-day operations of the President’s office, among other duties. She has also served as Chief Diversity Officer, where she oversees the College’s Equity and Campus Diversity program. She discussed the benefits of DEI and the importance of bringing the awareness to our community. She inspired us all!
