On Tuesday, June 8, representatives from the Buffalo Niagara Association of REALTORS met with Congressman Brian Higgins (New York 26th congressional district) to discuss key issues affecting REALTORS and the real estate market. Hosted by Federal Political Coordinator Margaret Hartman, members of the BNAR's Executive Committee, Government Affairs Chair Greg Straus, past president Jim Knight, and Government Affairs Director Dan Locche presented such topics as extending 1031 exchange, thanked him for introducing the Neighborhood Homes Investment Act (HR. 2143) and his letter of concern regarding the rising prices of lumber, and being at the forefront of efforts for the opening the U.S. - Canadian border. The Congressman has consistently been an ardent supporter of the real estate industry and continues to receive the backing of REALTORS.
